to be applied within the library. The session will run from 9 AM to
4 PM; cost is $85 for SOLINET members, $125 for non-members.

"Hurricane Preparedness: Making Sure your Institution Survives the
Big One" will help you prepare for the hurricane season. This
workshop will be taught on Friday, August 23rd at the Virginia Beach
Public Library. Dr. Michael Trinkley, Director of Chicora
Foundation, will provide information to help increase your
institution's chances of survival and minimize damage during a
hurricane. The workshop runs from 9 AM to 4 PM; cost is $85 for

Two pest control workshops will be held in September at Francis

to fumigation and provide in-depth coverage of alternatives to
chemical fumigation. The workshop will run from 9 AM to noon; cost

"Fundamentals of Book Repair", a two-day workshop, will be offered
at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, on

who actually perform book repair in libraries, and is useful also to
those who supervise repair units. The workshop will teach staff
members how to perform simple, economical and preservation-quality
repairs on materials in general circulating and reference
collections. The workshop will run from 8:30 AM to 5 PM both days,
and the total cost is $145 for SOLINET members, $205 for
