We have something of a bug problem here, and I've been asked to
see if anyone has any information regarding the effects of
fumigants upon old/rare print material collections. Is it safe
for the collection, or can the chemicals destroy sensitive
materials, etc.? Our collection of oldest materials are housed
in our basement level, where little creatures have been
residing! Our "officer in charge" had someone do a literature
search on this topic, but to no avail. We need to take action
on this, and I would appreciate hearing from some practical
    experts.
