Subject: Conference on gilding
A one day conference on gilding is to be held on Wednesday 8th of May at The Museum of London, England. The conference is organised by the committee responsible for steering the gilding group towards full section status within the United Kingdom Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (UKIC). There will be speakers giving papers on a wide variety of subjects relating to gilded finishes on wood, leather, and metal. There will also be a small trade fair with stands of interest to those involved with all types of gilding conservation, restoration and practice.
