Wood consolidants

Can anybody give advice on the latest in wood consolidants? has
anyone used Mowilith 50 for wood consolidation and found it to be
suitable?  Is Mowital B30 still considered a good option?. Are there
any which can be used dissolved in water or in low toxicity
solvents? Any relevant references or advice based on recent
experience very gratefully received. The consolidant is needed for
pacific canoes which have severe insect damage and will be used by a
qualified conservator.
