Subject: ALCTS/PARS Preservation Education and Outreach Discussion Group
ALCTS/PARS Preservation Education and Outreach Discussion Group Midwinter Meeting in San Antonio Holiday Inn Riverwalk North Brazos Room B Sunday, January 20, 1996 2pm - 4pm The discussion will center on the feasibility of establishing, and maintaining, a homepage for preservation departments, or units dealing with preservation, at our various institutions. These homepages could be used for communication and information by anyone interested in the subjects covered. Normandy Helmer, Head of Preservation and Binding at the University of Oregon, Eugene, has kindly volunteered to start the discussion by telling of her experience in setting up a homepage at the University of Oregon. Undoubtedly many of you have already worked, or are considering working, on this kind of project; we hope for a spirited discussion of the pros/cons, problems/joys of such an undertaking. If you have any handouts, procedures, or examples of homepages that are especially appropriate, please bring them along for others to see. Be sure to include this session in your plans for the Midwinter Conference. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, January 20, 1996, in San Antonio.
