Registration is underway for our upcoming course: Preserving Natural History Collections University of Victoria Instructor: Mary Lou Florian, Conservation Scientist and Conservator Emeritus, Royal British Columbia Museum January 17-26, 1996 Please register by: December 18 Fee: $589 (credit, non-credit, visiting student credit participation) The diverse specimens which make up natural history collections hold a wealth of information for researchers, curators, and educators concerned with environmental, scientific, and social issues. The integrity and value of these specimens is compromised and diminished, however, if they are not effectively cared for in the museum setting. This course focuses on the preservation principles and methods that provide a foundation for long term care, maintenance, research, exhibition, and educational uses of both organic and inorganic specimens.
