11th Triennial ICOM-CC meeting

The 11th Triennial Meeting of the ICOM Conservation Committee is to
be hosted by The Scottish Society for Conservation & Restoration in
Edinburgh, 1-6 September 1996.  The week-long programme, held at the
centrally-situated University of Edinburgh, includes Plenary &
Working Group sessions, together with an energetic and hospitable
social programme.  Poster sessions and a Trade Fair will also run
throughout the week.

Major evening receptions will be hosted by the National Museums of
Scotland, the National Galleries of Scotland and the City of
Edinburgh Council.  The Conference Banquet will be held in The
Assembly Rooms at the heart of Edinburgh's 18th century 'New Town'.
The week will end with an informal and energetic ceilidh.  Mid-week
delegate excursions have been arranged to visit a large number of
Scotland's museums and conservation facilities and, in addition,
several pre- and post-conference tours have been organised.

Accommodation will be offered at the centrally-located University
Halls of Residence or a range of hotels.  The dates of the Meeting
will enable delegates to attend the IIC Congress in Copenhagen
(25-30 August) or to experience the Edinburgh International Festival
(11-31 August) celebrating its 50th anniversary year.
