Postgraduate Conservation Research Seminar February 1996 The second seminar on postgraduate research projects will be held at the Science Museum lecture theatre in February 1996. It covers current research into analytical techniques and treatments being developed for conservation. The meeting is aimed at conservators and students at all levels. Topics for this seminar will include; * Analysis of modern synthetic paint media * Atmospheric corrosion of lead roof * Biaxial tensile testing of painting on canvasses * Chromatographic studies of drying oil * Cleaning of medieval glass * Conservation of aluminium * Conservation of waterlogged wood * Effect of cleaning on the surface morphology of plastics * Effect of sulphate concentration on the stability of cellulose esters Presentations will last approximately 25 minutes excluding discussion. There is no registration fee for the seminar.
