I have some experience ordering large map file cases that are powder
coated, not baked enamel. Delta Designs out of Kansas actually uses
Mayline cabinets that have not yet been painted and uses the powder
coating process for painting. It is recognized in the museum field
as the way to go in order to side-step the baked enamel finish,
which if not heated properly does raise questions re: outgassing.
The people at Delta Design are a real pleasure to work with, and
their prices are very much in line with the older companies that
have yet to make the switch to powder coating. Call Bruce Danielson
at Delta Designs 913-234-2244. They also do great custom work.
