The digital archivist will be responsible for identifying, cataloging, tracking and providing continued access to the creative content and project data generated during the production of an animated feature. They will conduct a needs analysis of the diverse current and potential user community and present archival system requirements to the technical development staff. In addition, they will be exploring and developing new technologies for indexing and preserving analog digital motion picture materials. The goal of the project is to set up an archival facility at a new studio while helping to define archival technology for the future. This position requires 3+ years of related archival or curatorial experience. Grounding in traditional archival and library descriptive technique and a willingness to participate in defining future standards. Computer database, digital multimedia and record management expertise necessary as well as being conversant in electronic record considerations. Fundamental understanding of the animation and feature film production process. Must have excellent presentation skills and be able to get things done.
