CD-rom longevity

Mix magazine, a professional audio magazine, has had some articles
recently on the composition and storage of CD-R.  The articles
appeared in the October and November 1994 issues and the February,
March, and July  issues of this year. They can be found in a column
titled "Fast Lane" and are authored by Stephen St. Croix.  He is an
audio engineer who started doing research on CD-R after he lost
important data.  The July article goes into detail about CD-R
composition, manufacturers, and longevity.   The articles are a very
interesting read.
