New list

From: Simon Hogg <s.hogg>
Date: Thursday, July 6, 1995
I have recently started a new mailing list for glass conservation.
The subject areas are loosely defined at present, but are shown
roughly below.

If you wish to subscribe to the list, please send the following
message to

    To: listserver [at] ic__ac__uk
    Subject: Message: subscribe glass-list First-Name Last-Name
        (e.g. John Smith)

The subject coverage will be loosely based on the following;

    1. 'Contemporary' museum glass, glazes and ceramics conservation,
both objects and display materials. (The last 3 centuries or
        thereabouts,) including stained glass.

    2. Archaeomaterials - deterioration problems of ancient
glasses, glazes and ceramics after excavation.

    3. Technologies - The technology of glass making through the
        ages, dating and sourcing.

    4. Nuclear Waste Glasses, as many of the same problems are
experienced in this field as well.

It should be noted that this list is *not* a Ceramics-list but will
concentrate on glass and glazes, although ceramics will be included
where appropriate.

If you have any problems, email me at s.hogg [at] ic__ac__uk. Also tell
anyone else who may be interested.
