ALCTS PARS (ALA / Association for Library Collections and Technical Services / Preservation and Reformatting Section) Education Committee presents: "Why Me? Integrating Preservation Into Your Library's Operations" Saturday, June 24, 1995 9:30-11:30 McCormick Convention Center E152 The program will present techniques for integrating preservation awareness and activities librarywide. Speakers from Technical Processing/Cataloging, Selection/Acquisitions, and Circulation/Access Services will present general and specific ideas that have proven successful in their institutions. Following the keynote speakers, three breakout sessions will specifically address the preservation issues of these areas of library responsibility. Issues for discussion will include bibliographic control, gifts and OP selection and processing, student training, stacks maintenance and identification of materials for repair or reformatting. For each breakout session, a discussion leader and a moderator will facilitate the exchange of information.
