Silicone anti-static coatings

I have a general inquiry. Our Reference Division received an
anti-static coating for the glass plate of the electrostatic copy
machine, from the Manufacturer, Toshiba. There is *no* description of
solution ingredients, except silicone. Further, the solution is
described as an "oil" and is indeed quite viscous.

Instructions call for a thin film of the solution to be distributed
across the glass plate. The treatment is supposed to reduce static
charges, allowing paper to transport more easily across the plate.
However, as the vehicle seems non-volatile, I wonder if the film might
not transport to the paper from the plate? And, as these papers are
items of permanent retention, some of which may be re-copied, could
there be a build-up of damaging chemistries?

Obviously I told Reference to hold their horses on this one. Is anyone
familiar with anything of this sort?
