Seminar on electronic document imaging

The State University of New Jersey Rutgers is offering a 1 day seminar
on electronic document imaging. This course will be taught by Dr.
William Saffady,a nationally recognized expert in the field of
electronic document imaging. Safady is a professor at the School of
Information Science and Policy at the State University of New York in
Albany. The following topics will be covered:

    *   Definition of terms used in the field
    *   Applications of electronic document imaging
    *   Comparison of imaging with paper and microfilm;
    *   Implementing an imaging installation
    *   Standards
    *   Optical character recognition
    *   Scanning
    *   Record retention
    *   Legal issues
    *   Trends in image storage media
    *   Image capable displays.

This workshop will take place on Thursday, April 27 from 9:30 am to 3:30
pm at the Ramada Inn in East Brunswick, N.J.. The fee for the workshop
