HVAC systems

RE: Mary Reinsch Sackett on HVAC: Most systems require a year of
operation to reveal flaws in design, equipment or installation. This
usually corresponds to a full cycle of weather conditions. Once the
system is stabilized, the building should stabilize in about 3 months.
If the HVAC was installed without accompanying vapor and thermal
barriers, it is possible that the building will never stabilize. Close
monitoring and frequent maintenance will help avoid surprises and crises
from the HVAC system. After about 3 years of operation, a good
maintenance program is mandatory, as the equipment is no longer "new".
