Database software for conservation documentation

We were advised to adopt the DataPerfect database software, compatible
with WordPerfect, for the establishment of conservation documentation
records. While the package looks impressive to the uninformed, the
learning curve is heavy going.

What software are other people using to record treatment procedures in a
retrievable manner, and what experience have others had of the MARC
field for conservation, in relating bibliographic and conservation
records?
