Polyethylene Glycol

From: Beth Richwine <mah0cdd>

I am looking for any information or articles on the retreatability of
PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) impregnated wood. The object in question was
sprayed with PEG (only two coats and I don't know which MW) about 30
years ago and the possibility exists that it was also coated soon after
with Zytel, Polyamide Resin 61 although I can't be sure until more
analysis is done. It has been on continuous exhibit all this time. The
wood is brittle and the surface has been flaking off over the years.
Thanks in advance,

Beth Richwine
