Vacuum cleaners for mold

From: Sharon Gavitt <sgavitt>

At the New York State Archives Conservation lab we use the Filter Queen
dual filter vacuum model to remove mold spores from documents and bound
volumes. The reasons we decided to use this model are: water models were
less proven at the time, expense, water doesn't kill mold, chemicals
needed to be added to water to prevent mold and vacuums are easily
available. A local vacuum cleaner vendor carrying the Filter Queen brand
could probably provide you with specifics and purchasing information.
I've found the vacuum easy to use, compact, quiet and effective.
