Fome-Cor

In response to Hilary Kaplan's inquiry regarding the use of Fome-Cor to
block windows, the primary objection is that Fome-Cor is highly
flammable. I'm sure it would make your insurance underwriters break out
in a cold sweat! Otherwise, it would be a bit translucent and
certainly inexpensive. There would be no real need to use acid-free
Fome-Cor for this use. There are many other composite board products
manufactured, some of which are fire resistant. Contact Fomebords,
1-800-362-6267 for a catalogue with extensive specifications. Studio
Specialties is another supplier of board products with sometimes
excellent prices. They have branches in Chicago, Los Angeles, San
Francisco, Toronto and Montreal.
