Hantavirus

Just a note on hantavirus: it is not limited geographically.  Deaths
have been reported in midwestern and eastern states.  The most recent I
have seen reported was a man who died after apparently contracting the
virus by sleeping in rodent-infested shelter on the Appalachian Trail.
Caution in handling materials contaminated with rodent droppings
therefore seems prudent.
