Scotch Removable Magic Tape

Scotch removable Magic Tape (blue box) or Post-It notes are not safe for
extended application to archival materials. The adhesive can permeate
the substrate and cause staining or removal of fiber from the surface
when you pull it away. The change appears to be related to ambient
temperature, but may also be related to other factors such as humidity,
age of adhesive when you use it, etc. I have noticed the change in as
little as three months, but some "stickies" are OK after a year or more.
