Call for nominations--Gaylord Collections Conservation Award

Gaylord Collections Conservation Award
Applications are due December 1, 1994

Applications are being accepted for the second Gaylord Collections
Conservation Award, which supports the professional development of
individuals involved in the conservation of archives and library
collections (book, paper, and photographic materials).  The award
includes a grant of $1000 plus an all expense paid trip to the annual
conference of the American Institute for Conservation in St. Paul,
Minnesota, June 6-10, 1995.

Applicants are required to submit a form describing how they would use
the grant to improve their ability to treat the collections in their
care.  Fundable activities include workshops, courses, internships, and
conferences on conservation topics.  Funds may be used for tuition,
registration fees, travel, or accommodation costs.  Last year's winner,
Karen Jones of Jefferson County Public Library in Colorado, used her
grant to attend the Southwestern U.S. Collections Conservation Training
Course sponsored by AMIGOS, BookLab, and the University of Texas at
Austin.
