Microfilm storage boxes

The most advanced microfilm box, from a preservation standpoint, is the
MicroChamber box, which contains activated carbon and molecular sieves
in addition to alkaline buffers. Alkaline buffers alone will not prevent
the entry of oxidative and acidic gases, such as peroxides, SO2 or NO2.
The MicroChamber box is very effective at capturing these compounds. It
is also approximately 400 times more effective than the alkaline buffer
calcium carbonate at dealing with acetic acid. You can purchase
MicroChamber products from Conservation Resources or University
Products. More information can be obtained from me at Conservation
Resources
