Electrolysis of metal threaded textiles

Has anyone successfully treated tarnished metallic bound textile by
electrolytic methods? Has anyone tried electrolysis in non aqueous
media? If these methods have been used how has the affect on the textile
been tested? Any comments would be appreciated.
