Fiberglass ceiling tile is available (and very efficient acoustically)
which should be fairly water resistant.  It might not hold up ponded
water, but should survive wetting without turning into pulp.  Obviously,
this is not a solution to the leakage problems, but a way to reduce the
nuisance slightly.  Good Luck.
