PLMS Preservation Education & Outreach Discussion Group

The Preservation Education & Outreach Discussion Group meeting at ALA
Miami will be held Monday, June 27, 11:30-12:30 at the OMNI-La Brisa.
The meeting will focus on approaches for implementing the ALA
Preservation Policy through outreach to the library community.  The
discussion will center on how to reach young library users with ideas
about care and handling of books, etc.  To further this discussion,
School and Children's librarians have been invited to come to the
meeting and share their perspectives to complement the preservation
expertise among PLMS members. This topic will tie in directly with the
Monday afternoon program cosponsored by PLMS and LIRT (Library
Instruction Round Table) on "Selling Preservation: What to Say to the
Customer", 2-5 pm, MBCC-D233-234.  A new moderator will be selected at
meeting.
