Preserving scent

Walter:  Have you considered sealing the book in a clear vapor barrier
envelope?  Marvelseal 1177 (Ludlow) or Film-O-Rap 7750 (Bell Fibre) would
allow the book to be seen, but not smelt (sounds fishy).  By also
enclosing some Ageless oxygen scavenger the deterioration of the oils
would be significantly diminished.
