1)  The Washington Rare Book Group will meet for lunch and a lecture cum
    tour of the Historical Society of Washington, D.C., at 12:00 noon on
    Wednesday, February 16.  The Society is located at 1307 New
    Hampshire Ave., N.W., near the Red Line's Dupont Circle stop.  For

2)  The District of Columbia Library Association's Preservation Interest
    Group will sponsor a free program entitled "Funding for Preservation
    and Access:  A Basic Primer" from 9:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, February
    15, at the Georgetown University Law Center, Room 156 of the Law
    Center Bldg. (near the Red Line's Union Station and Judiciary Square
    stops).  Participants include Linda Miles (Program Officer, Dept. of
    Education), Lisa Weber (Asst. Program Director, National Historical
    Publications and Records Commission) and Barbara Paulson (Program
    Officer, National Endowment for the Humanities). For further

3)  The Smithsonian Institution Libraries announce a Dibner Library
    Lecture on Thursday, March 17, at 6:30 PM in the Reception Suite of
    the National Museum of American History (Constitution Ave. at 12th
    St., N.W.).  W. Bernard Carlson of the University of Virginia's
    School of Engineering and Applied Science will speak on "Making
    Connections:  Alexander Graham Bell, Elisha Gray and Thomas A.
    Edison and the Race to the Telephone".  For more information on this

4)  The Library of Congress will host the exhibit "Caprices, Grotesques,
    and Homages:  Leonard Baskin and the Gehenna Press" from 17 February
    1994 until 1 August 1994 in the Madison Bldg.
