    The Huntington Library suffered only minor damage in the Northridge
    earthquake. The buildings have no structural damage, only some
    plaster cracks.  Some books had their spines bruised when they fell;
    at least one manuscript box split, but the contents remained intact;
    there's been no damage to the art collections. We reopened Tuesday
    morning, most employees returned to work, and operations are
    normal--to the extent that we can work with our nerves a little
    shaken.
