Binding thick books

From: Elayne Bond <bond>

This is in response to Dina Schoonmaker's posting re binding thick
books. Perhaps binding the thick books "flush to the bottom" would help.
We use that binding option at Northwestern for heavy volumes that can't
be divided. The text block is bound flush with the bottom of the case,
thus eliminating the pull of the text block on the hinges over time.
(But certainly, two inches is better than two and a half inches).
