Libraries) Arts Section

"Balconies and Verandas: Documentation and preservation of
New Orleans Architecture."

Saturday, June 26, 1993  2-4 PM  Fairmont Hotel - Room Bayou III

Drawing on local resources in New orleans, the program will explore the
diversity of materials available for architectural research.  Resources
range from the distinctive buildings themselves to drawings and
blueprints documenting historic houses.  Issues of historic building
preservation and the preservation of documentation will be examined, as
will the scholarly use of architectural resources.

Speakers include:
    Samuel Wilson, Architect, Coke and Wilson
    Patricia Gay, Executive Director, Preservation Resource Center
    Sally K. Reeves, Archivist, Notarial Archives
    Jessie Poesch, Professor Emerita, Fine Arts, Tulane University

This program has been selected among the exceptional educational and
informational features of the 1993 ALA Annual Conference.
