1. PQ&TDG Minutes from the Mid-Winter Conference, January 23, 1993.

2. Product Watch

Bill Hollinger, Conservation Resources International, Inc. will advise
the group on the development and production of MicroChamber products.
MicroChamber is a paper and board infused with reactive capacity for
interaction with pollutant gases as well as with acidic products
generated by enclosure contents. Results of testing as well as projected
uses for this new product will be discussed.

3. Discussion Topics

Debra McKern will discuss plans for collections conservation at the
Library of Congress including management of contract repair and
experimentation.

Julian Stam, Widener Preservation, will lead discussion on preparation
and shipment techniques for DEZ alkalization. He will offer his
experiences with handling of retrospective book collections.

Regina Sinclair, Johns Hopkins will invite discussion on effective
check-in and QC routines for DEZ treated materials.


4. Unfinished business

Shelf preparation of non-book items including CDs and composite software
publications.
