Jim Harmon of Harmon Preservation Pest Management announces the
publication of a new manual for the preservation librarian or archivist.
Entitled "Integrated Pest Management in Museum, Library and Archival
Facilities," this is a step by step "how to" guide for the layman as
well as the professional for the design, development, implementation and
maintenance of an Integrated Pest Management program.  This is the first
detailed, comprehensive guide to pest control without the use of
traditional pesticides as the primary means of control.  Included a re
color plates and detailed descriptions of the pests;  directions and
evaluations of control methods with and without pesticides; instructions
for facility and collections surveys plus sample forms; and listings of
where to get assistance and materials for these programs.

As part of a comprehensive disaster plan, the material presented here is
indispensable to anyone concerned with the protection of their
collections.
