Automated documentation systems

From: Erich Kesse <erikess>
Date: Sunday, December 8, 1991
Information re: automated documentation systems can be found in: WRITTEN
DOCUMENTATION : forms used in the preservation of archival and library
materials / compiled by Erich Kesse, Richard Gilbert and Michelle
Bailey. (Gainesville, FL : University of Florida Libraries, 1989.) The
information, though somewhat dated, may be helpful. Copies of the
publication were sent to and should be available at Yale's Center for
British Art. Paper Conservation Laboratory. Copies may also be obtained
from the Preservation Office, University of Florida Libraries.

Three of the most complete systems then (i.e., in 1989) known to
humanity were in use at the State Conservation Centre of South
Australia; the University of Texas at Austin's Harry Ransom Humanities
Research Center; and the Western Regional Paper Conservation Laboratory.
Each was designed specifically to meet the needs of the home
institution.
