The term "channel bind" comes from the Channel Bind Corporation, a
Xerox Company located in Rochester, New York. They offer a
mechanical binding system that uses a patented steel channel that
mechanically clamps textblocks up to 300 pages.

I am not in a position to comment on its applications for
libraries. For further information you may reach Channel Bind
Corporation at (716) 427-4280.
