desirable but is not required; confidence, a sound grasp of the field,
an ability to work well with others, and a demonstrated ability to
direct others are all essential.

Applications and inquiries should be submitted to

                    Carl Foote, Personnel Officer
The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and
                            Botanical Gardens
                    1151 Oxford Road
                    San Marino, CA 91108

Salary is negotiable, with a base of $32,000 plus fringe benefits.

I am personally eager to encourage qualified persons to explore with us
the possibilities contained within this dry and rather bland job
posting. It may be bland, but the Huntington is not. This is a helluva
place to work, and it is getting more interesting all the time. We want
to be in the vanguard of research libraries when it comes to
conservation/preservation, and we are keenly interested in finding
the person who has the qualities of imagination and leadership that will
help us make it happen!
