Subject: Bleach and redevelopment in photo conservation

While going through the Photographer's Formulary catalog, I ran,
again, across an ad for Restor, a bleach and redevelopment solution
    for faded photographs.

I know the prevailing wisdom is to avoid the usage of such
treatment, based upon the principle of reversability, and the
unknown effects of the treatment across the long term.

However, it occurred to me that I do not know, with certainty, that
any research upon those effects has been done. Does anyone know if
Image Permanence Institute, or another lab, has performed any
accelerated testing upon such a restored item?

If not, it could be an interesting, and potentially useful, bit of
    work.
