Diethylaminoethanol in steam

I am interested in any information about volatile amines in steam,
especially the amine diethylaminoethanol (DEAE).  I have read the
Volent/Baer article and would like to know if there is any other
information specifically about the overall effects of DEAE in
humidification steam in libraries, archives, or museums.  I'm also
interested to learn about experiences with alternatives to DEAE as
boiler water treatment in systems where boiler steam must be used for
humidification.  Any information will be helpful and enlightening.
