Picric acid danger

BTW in digging through old postings, I noticed that you mentioned using
picric acid for testing for collagen.  I hope that people are aware of
the explosiveness of dry picric acid.  We had a big problem in Canada
with schools letting the picric acid dry out (forgotten for years on a
shelf.) For some reason there were an incredible number of school labs
blowing up during one year and that led to the "recalling" of all picric
acid in schools for disposal.
