Columbia University Libraries

Primary responsibility for managing the Columbia conservation
laboratory, including oversight of circulating collection repairs, and
performance of treatments on special collections materials; coordination
of the libraries' disaster recovery program, and assisting in exhibits
and environmental monitoring.  Conservation lab staff consists of four
technicians, a supervisor, and part-time students. The position reports
to the Assistant Director for Preservation.

Requirements: knowledge of conservation practices and procedures, as
demonstrated by relevant professional experience (post internship and
apprenticeship), preferably in a research library environment; evidence
of the ability to perform a wide range of treatments; creativity; and
supervisory capability.

Salary range, depending on level of experience, is $29,000-49,300.
Benefits include assistance with University housing and tuition
exemptions.
