Security devices for non-book media

My Music Library is interested in using tattle-tapes on non-book media:
cassettes, CDs, videocassettes, LPs.  They have literature from 3-M
about tattle tapes designed for use with these media.  Has anyone used
these, or any other security system, for non-book media.  Do you know of
any problems with them, etc.   Thanks.
