If you think it appropriate, the following announcement might be of real
interest to members of the Conservation discussion list.

                      International Travel Awards

    The Bogle International Library Travel Fund, administered by a
    subcommittee of the International Relations Committee of the
    American Library Association, annually provides grants of $500 to
    enable a member or members of the American Library Association to
    attend an international conference for the first time.  In the
    selection process, the Bogle Committee is concerned with the nature
    and extent of the applicant's participation in the conference and
    the relevance to the applicant's current job or research interests.
    The application deadline for the 1991 awards is December 1, 1990,
    and application forms may be obtained from:

    Recent winners have included:

         Elizabeth I. Hanson, Cataloger, University of Indiana
         Libraries, to attend a conference on the 19th Century Canadian
         City, at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

         Carol Sue Harless, Media Specialist, Shamrock High School
         Decatur, Georgia, to attend the 13th World Congress on Reading
         in Stockholm, Sweden;

         Maria Otero-Bosivert, Basque Studies Librarian at the
         University of Nevada, to attend the second Conference on
         Western European Studies and North American Research Libraries,
         in Florence, Italy;

         Mark Edwin Pumphrey, Institutional Consultant at the South
         Carolina State Library, to attend the 55th International
         Federation of Library Associations Council and General
         Conference in Paris, France.
