Nicholas Pickwoad's two bookbinding history courses, to be offered in
Columbia SLS's Rare Book School in July, are both sold out. Pickwoad
will be joining the SLS faculty for the regular 1990-91 academic year,
replacing Guy Petherbridge, who has resigned effective July 1st.

On Tuesday, 31 July, Frederick Bearman (PRO, London) will be giving a
free public lecture in Room 506 Butler Library, Columbia University, at
6 pm, as part of the 1990 Rare Book School. The title of his talk is:
"Triumph, Hope and Tragedy: Preserving the Public Records of England."
All interested persons are cordially invited to attend; also the
reception following the lecture.
