The Geoscience Information Society, GIS, Preservation Committee is
conducting a brief survey in an attempt to gather information about
geoscientific material that needs preservation, as well as data about the
preservation activities at geoscience institutions or institutions which
collect geoscience information. The survey inquires about the preservation
activities occurring at institutions, and the material which geoscience
information professions feel would benefit from preservation treatment. The
survey can be completed online at
http://vector.gis.psu.edu/emsl/guides/GIS/survey.html. Fax (814) 865-1379,
and Ariel (128.118.152.150) responses are welcome as are email replies
which can be sent to Lisa Wishard (LAR14@PSU.EDU) or Linda Musser
(LRM4@PSU.EDU), GIS Preservation Committee co-chairs. For additional
information about the activities of the GIS Preservation Committee please
see http://vector.gis.psu.edu/emsl/guides/GIS/gispresv.html.
