good foundation in physics would serve you well in acoustical issues.
Studio Design is fundamentally acoustics, and overseas there are courses
in
universities in such topics as design.
Another resource available internationally
is the Journal of the Acoustics Society of America and allied publications in
Great Brittain, and in Europe. There are trade magazines such as Sound and
Vibration, Mix, and others that will cover Studio design from time to
time. A google.com search engine search on "Studio Acoustics" may
lead you
to books and publications it might be possible to order.
