This is a newer CD reissue. The one I have is on Collectables label and both programs are the mono 
versions. They sound like they're from a tape but with a lot of digital "cleanup" and gating. I 
don't hear record surface noise on my CD.

The Amazon sound samples indicate that on the 2007 CD, volume 2 was taken from a stereo source but 
volume 1 was still from a mono source.
