[ARSCLIST] Not a cheap lousy wartime tape, an expensive postwar tape!

Early LPs must have had a bad reputation pretty early in the game. Oceanic OCL 301, Beethoven's Fidelio, has this note:

"This recording which was made exclusively for Oceanic Records, Inc. in January 1950 is not to be confused with a dubbing from a radio broadcast. To assure the utmost results in fidelity in performance, it required an eight day recording by the Mitteldeutsche-Runfunk*, Leipzig after innumerable rehearsals and performances by the opera company."

* Yes, Rundfunk was misspelled.

First time I've ever seen a disclaimer like that! The set doesn't sound too bad, especially played 3% up.
