I can't imagine that they didn't at first. RCA's production process
generally involved preprocessed "tape masters" that were transferred flat to
disk. In cases where a UK release was later than in the US, an updated tape
master was probably used.

The biggest sonic disaster of Dynagroove was the attempt to reduce dynamic
range and automagically compensate for the amplitude changes using dynamic
frequency response changes based on psychoacoustic modeling. This kind of
compensation is an integral part of mastering however it traditionally
depended on the listening skills and judgment of an experienced (i.e.
expensive) mastering engineer. This attempt to automate while improving on
the performance of skilled labor really appealed to the bean counters as one
might expect but ended up being a sonic train wreck as well as a public
relations disaster for RCA.

Unfortunately those who don't study history are destined to repeat it and
today this same sort of misguided technology has become very common in
digital players and signal processing software.
