With proper packaging, the discs will survive transit to most
anywhere on the globe.

If the discs are already cracked (but not broken), then transit
becomes a bit more of an issue, as you don't want vibration
in transit to grow a pre-existing crack.

We do recommend shipping by air, whether it's within the same
state or across the nation. In our experience, this minimizes
the time that the discs are sharing space in the truck with
very heavy packages.

We also recommend DOUBLE BOXING - so that if your box does
come in contact with a much heavier box and gets crushed, it
will still be protected by the inner box and the packaging
within that.

DO NOT ship discs in their original "albums" (the book-like
sleeves that are bound). The discs tend to fall into the
binding area, and the vibration of travel cracks the edge
off of the disc. Usually the two discs on the outside (each
cover) will get damaged.

It is best to ship the discs in regular sleeves, and sandwich
a small number of them between very stiff cardboard (usually
two layers of cardboard at 90-degrees for maximum stiffness,
and then firmly tape the sandwich on all four sides. Create
multiple "sandwiches" if you have many records. Certainly
no more than 10 discs to a sandwich.

Surround the sandwich with peanuts (sounds like lunch),
newspaper or other packaging making sure that NO edge of the
disc touches the box. Provide a "crush" zone around the disc
within the box.

And then provide a second "crush" zone between the inner and
the outer box when double boxing.

We have yet to see a single broken disc when the above
packaging is used.

Good luck with your project!
